FROM-TO-FROM

If God opens his ears to me this second
I’ll weave unto him a Kente of poetry
I’ll sing unto him a smock of melodies
Thread upon thread, I’ll lift him in a palanquin of praise
I’ll beat unto him the fontomfrom from where I’m from
Where I’m from, kings are carried by happy servants
These words dancing in my head right now should make my King happy
If God opens his ears right now
I’ll sing him a song from where I’m from
Appellation after appellation, please, hear the drums talk
This is from me to the From, the Father, source of all things
He who the birds in a thousand forests sing unto
Every dawn and day hearing the cheers of oceans
He who sits in the ovation of trees in their trillions
Receive this applause from where I’m from
